What, truly, is the reason for the season? Why do christians everywhere flock to the annual celebration? It’s actually NOT because of the true Messiah of the scriptures. So, what is the real reason?
Well, we know that Messiah Yahoshua was born on the Feast of Tabernacles, which is in the Fall each year, and that December 25 was traditionally the day celebrated by pagans as the birth of their sun god. So, the date has nothing to do with Messiah.
We know from scripture that the Father’s ordained Sabbaths (weekly and feasts) were given as a family sign between Him and His children, and that includes the actual day Messiah Yahoshua was born—the Feast of Tabernacles. Christ-mass is not even close to being one of the Father’s ordained Sabbaths, so, the celebration has nothing to do with any family sign given by the Father to His children.
Scripture also tells us that Yah’s true children are not to copy the rituals and traditions of the pagans in their worship of Him; and, most all of the symbolism associated with the christ-mass comes directly from pagan traditions. So, it’s not because the Father wants His children to chop down trees and decorate them (Jeremiah 10:3-5), or do a gift exchange (Revelation 11:10), or attach His Son to the pagan customs and date that the lost world celebrates (Exodus 20:7).
The Holy Spirit also tells us in Zechariah 3:1 that Messiah’s name is יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙, which is pronounced “Yahoshua,” so “jesus” has never been His name. The name “jesus” was created when christianity was invented, and it was because of the intense hatred of the physical Jews the early christians harbored. They sought to strip everything they associated with the Jews from the faith—traditions, names, etc.—and replace them all with paganism, human traditions, and names that sounded more Greco-Roman, thus, inventing a counterfeit of the true faith.
Remember, Messiah told us in John 4:24 that those who worship Yah MUST do so in spirit and in TRUTH. The christ-mass being a counterfeit of the true day Messiah was born, which is filled with paganism and the traditions of men, there is no way for the celebration to have anything to do with worship of the Father, as the celebration itself is based on what is false, not on truth.
So, since “jesus” is a counterfeit of Yahoshua, “jesus” truly is the reason the pagan christ-mass is celebrated. It is the fleshly revelry that christians use to supplant the actual day that Messiah was born. And, we all know who the source of spiritual counterfeits is. Christians who celebrate the christ-mass are deceived by the father of lies into thinking they are honoring Messiah, when nothing could be further from the truth.
