There is a common false sentiment that “we are all God’s children.” No, we are not. We are all His creations. Only those who have His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, who is ELOHIM with the Father and the Son, are His children.
Those who have the Son have the Father (1 John 2:23), but who has the Son? Romans 8:9 explains that only those who have the Holy Spirit belong to Messiah, and those who don’t are not His.
The first chapter of John’s Gospel begins with creation, explaining that “In the beginning was the Word (LOGOS), and the Word (LOGOS) was with ELOHIM and the Word (LOGOS) was ELOHIM. So, whoever the Word (LOGOS) is, was both with God and WAS God. In the Hebrew, “elohim” is a plural word that means “gods,” but, whenever it refers to the God of creation, it is used as a singular, even though the noun is a plural.
So, who is the Word (LOGOS)? Well, we know that, at the creation of man, Yah said, “Let US make man in OUR image.” And, what is the image of ELOHIM? How is man created in the image of ELOHIM? Man is the union of soul, body, and spirit. To love Yah your Elohim with all your heart, soul, and mind is to love Him with that which is His image, which is your spirit, your soul, and your physical body.
The account we are given of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Y’isra-el) represents this as well. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (who indwells the bride, whose name is Y’isra-el). We can see it with the matzah tash in the Seder, which is a linen cloth that has three pockets, each containing unleavened (righteous) bread, with the middle loaf of bread broken in two. It symbolizes Yah, Yahoshua, and Y’isra-el, all dwelling together as one in Yah’s house. Ultimately, it represents the New Jerusalem—the eternal union of the Bridegroom and His bride (sealed by the Holy Spirit), indwelt by the glory of the Father.
The Word (LOGOS) is the one who speaks the utterances of Yah—the one with divine authority to speak AS ELOHIM. The Son and the Holy Spirit both possess that authority. As John 1:14 tells us, the Word (LOGOS) was made flesh and dwelt among us on earth. But, as the Word (LOGOS) made flesh is the Bridegroom, He had to go away, according to the wedding traditions, and during the period of mandatory separation, another was sent in His place.
The One who was sent—the Holy Spirit—is the Word (LOGOS) to the bride—it is He who speaks the utterances of Yah to the bride. It is He who leads and guides the bride into all truth, and tells the bride of the coming things (John 16:13). It is He who is described in Hebrews 4:12, contrary to the common false teaching that this verse speaks of the scriptures. It doesn’t, as the scriptures are words (RHEMA), and words are not alive.
“For the word (LOGOS) of God (Elohim) is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
Many falsely teach that John 1:12 speaks of Messiah (the Word made flesh), but He doesn’t enter the passage until verse 14. Who is the one who must be received to make someone a child of Yah? He is the Light who was in John the Baptist from the womb. That certainly was not the Word (LOGOS) made flesh, who is Messiah, but the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling presence, and imputation of Messiah’s righteousness, gives those whom He indwells the privilege of being Yah’s children.
And, as Romans 8:9 tells us, those who do not have HIM (the Holy Spirit, the LOGOS to the bride) are not Messiah’s bride. And, as they do not have the Son, they do not have the Father. They are not His children.
So, whose children are those who do not have the Holy Spirit? John 8:44 makes it very clear. “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father.”
Those who are not Yah’s children, because they do not have His Spirit, are children of the devil. And, when one understands just how few people actually have the Holy Spirit, it becomes clear how vast the population of Satan’s children is on the earth. Satan’s children even includes all people who, while they claim they have the Holy Spirit, have never received a personal, direct, confirmation from Him, as described in Romans 8:16.
And, what is that confirmation? It is the direct testimony that one has been made a CHILD of Yah. Is that confirmation made to someone’s physical person (body)? No. Is it made to someone’s mental person (soul)? No. Satan’s demons have access to both of those, and that is where the forces of darkness work to influence us—physically and mentally, the body and the soul—the flesh.
The confirmation of Romans 8:16 is a direct communication to a person’s spirit. And, who has access to our spirit? Satan cannot access our spirit; he can only communicate with us physically or mentally (in our flesh).
Testifying directly to our spirit is done through our subconsciousness, and that is the communication of dreams. The Holy Spirit, as ELOHIM, instructs us, warns us, and confirms us in dreams (Job 33:14-18), and as Joseph said in Genesis 40:8, the interpretation of dreams belongs to ELOHIM (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).
In 1 Thessalonians 5:23, Paul speaks to the Thessalonians of their spirit, their soul, and their body being preserved blameless (righteous) until the return of Messiah, and only those indwelt by the Holy Spirit, who imputes Messiah’s righteousness to those who have believed all the way to the saving of their souls (Hebrews 10:39), are seen by the Father as righteous.
Those who do not have the Holy Spirit are children of the devil, and are seen by the Father as unrighteous. Ultimately, it is those who do not have the Holy Spirit who will be cast eternally into the lake of fire. Many nice people, many religious people, many seemingly spiritual people, have never received the personal confirmation of the Holy Spirit, and are, thus, children of the devil.
